Used for single puncture percutaneous access to facilitate placement of a .038 inch diameter working wire guide for interventional radiology procedures. Initial puncture with a small gage needle allows introduction of an .018 inch diameter mandril wire guide. The decreased friction of the distal surface facilitates introduction and reduces access trauma. The coaxial introducer is advanced over the wire guide and into position using the radiopaque band to identify tip location of the sheath. Removal of the introducer and stiffening cannula permits advancement of a .038 inch diameter wire guide through the lumen of the sheath. Supplied sterile in peel-open packages. Intended for one-time use.
